Overview

In this section we will lay the foundation of the course, define some basic terminology, explore our own thoughts, feelings and perceptions about trauma and being a trauma informed teacher or therapist.

At the end of this section we should be able to define the following terms:

Learning objectives:

  • How to communicate in a supportive and inclusive way that allows for all beings to feel respected.
  • A wide and personal definition of Trauma.
  • A general understanding of the Kosha model of yoga therapy and Denise's personal adaptation of that theory.
