In this section we will lay the foundation of the course, define some basic terminology, explore our own thoughts, feelings and perceptions about trauma and being a trauma informed teacher or therapist.

Learning objectives:
- How to communicate in a supportive and inclusive way that allows for all beings to feel respected.
- A wide and personal definition of Trauma.
- A general understanding of the Kosha model of yoga therapy and Denise's personal adaptation of that theory.
Assignments:
