Kundalini Yoga has a Rich History
Kundalini yoga comes out of a rich and controversial history. It is our desire, in this course, to present the best of the tradition, the practice and experience the techniques that have been passed down to us. The program is designed to be accessible, transparent and supportive of the individual while encouraging community and connection. At the end of this program you will be able to teach the basic kriyas and meditations of kundalini yoga, understand where kundalini yoga fits in the larger yoga history/philosophy and wellness world.
HOW DO YOU WANT TO FEEL? INSPIRED…MAGINIFICENT…BLISSFUL…
Challenge yourself by confronting self-imposed boundaries in order to touch your soul and gain the knowledge and self-confidence to build a more peaceful and creative life.
The Atlas Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training Program is the first level of a three tiered certification program in Kundalini Yoga. It consists of 220 hours (180 hours in class and 40 hours independent study) fulfilling the Canadian Yoga Alliance’s national standard for a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT). With your certification, you can apply for and receive a Canadian Yoga Alliance Certificate.
This foundation course introduces the student to the principles and practices of the self-sensory human, and explores how Kundalini Yoga and a yogic lifestyle can harmonize and uplift the human experience and awaken our potential.
Wearing White?
While you will be asked to wear white during your training, it is not required. We will talk about this idea and you will never be expected to wear anything that is not comfortable for you. Let your true colours shine.
Laugh out Loud!
We will encourage your inner child to come out and play. With movement, breath work, sounds and ideas we encourage experimentation, deep exploration and joy in all sessions.
Building Community
While this program is completely online, using live zoom meeting space, recorded programming and modules to work through at home, we have found that a profound sense of community does develop. Who knew that was possible? That deep lasting friendships can be started online - thank goodness!

Welcome to Atlas Studio
Denise opened Atlas Studio in 1999, after starting hundreds of hours of yoga classes in Toronto, Cambridge, Kitchener and Waterloo. She started training yoga teachers in 1997, after many years in the fitness and yoga world - students wanted to learn how to teach how "she taught". That special brand of teacher/ing is at the foundation of this Kundalini training program.
Place can be transformative, especially when it exists in service of something larger than the self. Atlas Yoga Studio is a little more than the typical yoga studio. We offer amazing classes for all skill levels, but our goal is deeper than that. We've built a transformative space of retreat, refuge, and incubation where we encourage, empower and equip yogis of all levels to tap into their latent capabilities, and stoke the fires of their deepest sense of purpose, both on the microcosmic and macrocosmic scales. Our driving force is to serve others, as they grow to serve the world.
Atlas is a global network of seekers who look beyond dogma to explore deeper spiritual possibilities; forge new understandings of self and other; and pioneer new paths for change. People find us from all around the world and journey to our space to connect, learn and grow - to become the change that we wish to see in the world. Our students are encouraged to explore and realize their potential through direct experience, education and ongoing dialogue. Together, we're working towards the realization of a peaceful, just, creative and sustainable world, asking hard questions and facilitating deep connection, conversation, freedom to fail and space to grow and change. We sponsor socially responsible projects in our community and beyond through donations of space, time and training. We provide personal, spiritual and socially transformative programs for our community and beyond.
